Circular table or pedestal table in mahogany decorated with eagles' heads, Consulate period (1799-1804)

An elegant circular table or circular tripod pedestal table, the upper part in black Belgian marble (restored) resting on a belt in mahogany veneer inlaid with three black lacquered lozenges and boxwood fillet, resting on three legs decorated with eagle heads in natural carved black lacquered and gilded wood, joined by a spacer shelf in black Belgian marble, the pedestal finishing with gilded bronze casters.

Beautiful French Consulate period pedestal circa 1799-1804.

 

In fine original condition - restoration to the marble top - gilt bronze casters changed.
